Tous les chiots de cette portée sont reservés PUPPIES DEVELOPMENT Nous proposons la possibilité de réserver un chiot avant sa naissance en intégrant notre liste de pré-réservation. Cette démarche nous permet de faire connaissance avec les futures familles, de comprendre leur projet et de les accompagner bien en amont de l’arrivée de leur futur chiot Les places pré-naissance étant volontairement limitées, notre liste de pré-réservation se remplit généralement rapidement. Si vous envisagez d’accueillir l’un de nos chiots, nous vous conseillons de nous contacter le plus tôt possible. Une pré-réservation concerne un chiot de la portée, selon le sexe souhaité, mais jamais un chiot ou une couleur en particulier. Les choix définitifs ne sont effectués qu’à partir de l’âge de 8 semaines environ. Il est indispensable de laisser les chiots grandir afin d’observer leur évolution. Ce délai nous permet d’évaluer au mieux leur tempérament au sein de leur fratrie et dans leur environnement quotidien, afin de vous orienter vers le chiot le plus adapté à votre mode de vie. Il nous permet également de faire notre propre choix si nous souhaitons garder un chiot. Celui-ci repose toujours sur un ensemble de critères : morphologie, caractère, aptitudes, équilibre général et évolution du chiot. Nous accordons une importance toute particulière au premier contact avec les familles. Au-delà d’une simple demande de disponibilité, nous apprécions de découvrir votre projet, votre mode de vie et l’environnement dans lequel évoluera le chiot que nous vous confierons peut-être. Ces échanges sont essentiels pour construire une relation de confiance et nous permettre de réaliser les meilleures associations possibles. Le tarif de nos chiots est consultable sur notre site. C’est pourquoi nous ne répondons plus aux demandes se limitant à un simple prix, préférant consacrer notre temps aux familles souhaitant réellement échanger autour de leur projet d’adoption. Les périodes de naissance et les portées annoncées restent soumises aux aléas de la reproduction. Une chienne peut notamment ne pas être gestante ou donner naissance à un nombre de chiots inférieur aux prévisions. Dans une telle situation, les pré-réservations sont réorganisées selon les disponibilités. But where does this small sighthound with its expressive gaze and thoroughbred appearance come from? Its history goes back several centuries and reflects its evolution from a hunting and racing dog to a true member of the family. The Origins of the Whippet The Whippet is a relatively recent breed, whose origins date back to the 19th century in England. It is the result of crossbreeding between several types of sighthounds, including the Greyhound, the Terrier and the Italian Greyhound. This selection was aimed at creating a fast, agile and enduring dog, capable of hunting small game, particularly rabbits. The breed was developed primarily by workers in the north of England, particularly in the mining regions of Yorkshire and Lancashire. Unable to afford large Greyhounds, which were considered dogs of the nobility, they selected smaller but equally fast and efficient dogs. This is how the Whippet became a popular dog for hunting, but also for racing, where it earned the nickname "the poor man's Greyhound". Thanks to its athletic build and low body fat, it is rarely subject to joint problems or excess weight if properly maintained. However, like any breed, it can be predisposed to certain pathologies, although few health tests are officially required in France for its breeding. INFORMATION LIFE EXPECTANCY The Whippet is a robust dog, with a life expectancy of generally between 12 and 15 years, and even longer for some individuals. Thanks to its athletic morphology and balanced metabolism, it often ages while maintaining good physical and mental condition. With age, however, the Whippet can become more sensitive to the cold, lose some muscle mass and see its pace slow down. It is important to adapt its diet, exercise and comfort to maintain its well-being. Regular veterinary monitoring also helps to detect and manage possible age-related disorders, such as osteoarthritis or heart problems. Even as he ages, the Whippet remains an affectionate dog and close to his family. With attention and appropriate care, he can enjoy a beautiful, serene and fulfilled retirement. LACK OF TESTS To date, no health test is mandatory for the Whippet, and there is no official recommendation from the breed club or the Canine Center regarding screening. Thus, a breeder who does not carry out tests should not be systematically discredited, especially since the Whippet is a generally healthy breed. However, any serious and responsible breeder ensures the good health of his lines and will exclude from breeding any dog presenting a proven genetic condition, in order to preserve the breed and guarantee healthy puppies. TRANSITIONAL VERTEBRA Transitional vertebra is a congenital anomaly that can occur in some Whippets. It is a vertebra located at the junction between two segments of the spine (thoracic-lumbar or lumbar-sacral) that has mixed characteristics of both regions. This peculiarity is usually detected by X-ray and can be asymptomatic or, in some cases, promote mobility problems or back pain, especially in very athletic dogs. Although its impact on the dog's health varies from individual to individual, the transitional vertebra is an element to take into account in reproduction, because it can be hereditary. Appropriate veterinary monitoring makes it possible to assess its consequences and adopt the necessary precautions for the dog's well-being. Our dogs are first and foremost our life companions and share our daily lives. A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT We live at the foot of the Vosges, in a natural environment, without pollution or nuisances, which contributes greatly to the physical and mental well-being of our dogs, who have 8000m2 of land and many places for walks in the middle of the forest. FAMILY LIFE FIRST Our companions are not just breeding dogs, but full-fledged members of the family. They live with us at home, share our daily lives and evolve in a familiar and warm environment. Every day, they witness our activities, from quiet moments to more animated moments, and bring a constant and comforting presence. They share our daily lives and that of our 5-year-old daughter. GROUP LIFE Our Whippets live together at home, in a group and in constant contact with all members of the family. Living in a pack, alongside other breeds and our cat, allows our Whippets to develop an excellent social balance. This cohabitation promotes their adaptability, communication and well-being, thus preparing them for a peaceful life in a family. LOTS OF WALKS Our dogs benefit from regular walks in the forest, or in the city, essential moments for their mental well-being. Each outing is a new adventure where they can explore new landscapes, smell different scents and interact with their environment. These walks allow them to exercise physically, stimulate their curiosity and have enriching experiences. Whether it's running in the undergrowth, or discovering the hustle and bustle of the city, these moments are crucial for their balance and happiness.

ASPECT GENERAL : Chien harmonieux, bien proportionné, actif, puissant, bien uni dans ses allures, de constitution robuste, à l’expression empreinte de douceur. COMPORTEMENT / CARACTERE : Docile, intelligent, naturellement doué pour le travail. Doux, amical et sûr de lui. TETE : Bien proportionnée et bien ciselée. REGION CRANIENNE : Crâne : Large sans être lourd. Belle attache de tête avec l’encolure. Stop : Bien marqué. REGION FACIALE : Truffe : De préférence noire. Museau : Puissant, large et haut. La longueur du chanfrein est approximativement égale à celle du crâne, du stop à l’occiput Mâchoires/dents : Les mâchoires sont fortes et présentent un articulé en ciseaux parfait, régulier et complet, c’est-à-dire que les incisives supérieures recouvrent les inférieures dans un contact étroit et sont implantées bien d’équerre par rapport aux mâchoires. Yeux : Marron foncé ; bien écartés. Le bord des paupières est foncé. Oreilles : De taille moyenne et attachées à peu près au niveau des yeux. COU : De bonne longueur, net et musclé. CORPS : Bien équilibré. Dos : Ligne du dessus horizontale. Rein : Fort et musclé, court. Poitrine : Bien descendue dans la région sternale. Les côtes sont bien descendues et bien cintrées. QUEUE : Attachée et portée au niveau du dos. Elle atteint le jarret. Elle ne s’enroule pas à l’extrémité. MEMBRES MEMBRES ANTERIEURS : Vue d’ensemble : Les membres antérieurs sont droits ; ils ont une bonne ossature. Epaule : Bien oblique. Omoplate longue. Bras : De même longueur que l’omoplate, de sorte que les antérieurs, du coude au sol , sont bien disposés sous le corps. Coude : Bien au corps. Pieds antérieurs : Ronds ; pieds de chat. MEMBRES POSTERIEURS : Les membres postérieurs sont forts et musclés. Grasset (genou) : Bien angulé. Jambe : Solide. Jarrets : Bien descendus. Ils sont droits et ne tournent ni en dehors ni en dedans. Les jarrets de vache sont à proscrire. Pieds postérieurs : Ronds ; pieds de chat. ALLURES : Allures énergiques, avec beaucoup d’impulsion. Les membres antérieurs et postérieurs se déplacent dans des plans parallèles à l’axe du corps. L’enjambée est longue et dégagée sans aucune tendance à relever les antérieurs. ROBE Qualité du poil : Le poil est plat ou ondulé avec de bonnes franges. Le sous-poil est serré et imperméable. Couleur du poil : N’importe quel ton or ou crème. Ne doit être ni rouge ni acajou. On admet la présence de quelques poils blancs uniquement au poitrail. TAILLE ET POIDS : Hauteur au garrot : Mâles : 56 à 61 cm, femelles : 51 à 56 cm. DEFAUTS : Tout écart par rapport à ce qui précède doit être considéré comme un défaut qui sera pénalisé en fonction de sa gravité et de ses conséquences sur la santé, le bien-être du chien et sa capacité à accomplir son travail traditionnel. DEFAUTS ENTRAINANT LA DISQUALIFICATION : • Agressif ou peureux. • Tout chien présentant de façon évidente des anomalies d’ordre physique ou comportemental sera disqualifié. N.B.: • Les mâles doivent avoir deux testicules d’aspect normal complètement descendus dans le scrotum. • Seuls les chiens sains et capables d’accomplir les fonctions pour lesquelles ils ont été sélectionnés, et dont la morphologie est typique de la race, peuvent être utilisés pour la reproduction.
